Infant Milk Formulations

Fortification

Of course, breast milk is the nutritional benchmark. We develop and produce IMF premixes according to the international regulations (Codex Alimentarius) on nutrition of infants, using vitamins, minerals, ultra-trace minerals and other bioactive components, like nucleotides. All premixes are formulated and packed under clean-room conditions.

Our IMFs include, for example:

  • Vitamins: A to K.
  • Minerals: Calcium, Chloride, Copper, Chromium, Iodide, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Phosphorus, Potassium, Selenium, Sodium, and Zinc.
  • Amino Acids: Alanine, Arginine, Aspartic acid, Cystine, Glutamic acid, Glycine, Histidine, Hydroxyproline, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Serine, Taurine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Tyrosine, and Valine.
  • Nucleotides: Cytidine, Uridine, Adenosine, Guanosine and Inosine.
  • Other nutritional substances like Choline and Inositol.

Fortification

Fortifying food with amino acids, vitamins, trace minerals, and more can prevent malnutrition, improve recovery, and ultimately improve quality of life. We offer premixes for specific nutritional needs. To make use of the latest scientific findings, we work together with the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) in the Netherlands, which performs cutting-edge scientific research in the field of healthy and active aging. In addition, we collaborate with the Healthy Ageing Network Netherlands and acquire input from the Lifelines clinical trial.

Infant formula with 50% longer shelf-life

Protection

To supply a dry infant formula product with enhanced shelf-life, we apply an antioxidant system that is based on the use of synergistic Tocopherol-Ascorbyl palmitate blends, which are easily dosed into the oil blend prior to spray-drying. A 50% increase in shelf life is achieved over the unstabilized formula.

Some world markets demand instant solubility when it comes to milk powder, without the need for intense shaking or stirring, for maximum convenience. This means that also all elements of the nutritional system have to dissolve virtually in no time. We offer perfectly working, proven solutions.

Protection

Pregnancy nutrition and even pre-pregnancy nutrition are areas, in which the world will see great future development. Besides well-established formulations with Folate, Folic acid, Iron, Calcium, and Vitamins A and D, we also offer premixes containing other nutrients, like Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids and (trace) minerals, keeping good organoleptic properties in mind.
